NASA Internship

During the Spring 2023 semester, I was an intern at NASA's Johnson Space Center in Houston. I worked on the Spacesuit Knowledge Capture team, which creates videos that help explain rovers, spacesuits, and geology tools to the public. I was able to gain experience in all areas of production.

"Exploring the Moon" series

"Exploring the Moon" is a series of pre-recorded video content that will be presented as an online conference. There will be five episodes total, and there will be a live interactive Q&A during the event. The content will be on rovers, geology tools, and spacesuits. There are two different sessions for each episode: Subject-Matter Expert (in the studio) and Experiential Field Reports (in the field). This will be a bi-annual conference in the spring and fall. This series is currently in post-production and is expected to be released in Fall 2023.

For this series, I helped in all areas of production. Click the gallery above to see what I did in depth.

Houston Hobby Airport Video

This was one of the first video editing projects that I was assigned for my internship. I was tasked with creating a promo video for NASA's Artemis missions. It shows highlights from previous and upcoming missions in order to educate the public. I used Adobe Premiere Pro to edit this. This video is planned to be shown in the NASA display at Houston's Hobby Airport.

What's Behind This Door series

During my internship at NASA, I was amazed at all of the different departments that work together for the Artemis missions and learned from a lot of people working on site. I wanted to highlight some of these departments, so I pitched the idea of a mini series called "What's Behind This Door". A host would walk through a different door each episode and ask an expert questions on what they do. Each episode would be 2-3 minutes for Instagram reels and appeal to the younger generations who may know much about what NASA does.

I wrote the opening scripts for each episode, made a list of places I wanted to feature, and did some of the videography for this project. I edited these projects in Adobe Premiere Pro, and I created graphics using Adobe After Effects. Click on the gallery above to watch the videos.

The Masked Singer

This was the first set that I worked on as an intern. We filmed clues for the reality show "The Masked Singer" at the Rockyard with NASA Astronaut Drew Morgan and at Building 9's Orion mockup with NASA Astronaut Zena Cardman. I was a Production Assistant on set. Some of the responsibilities that I had were clapping to mark the beginning and ending of shoots, helping with the set design, and making sure that the talent were ready for the shoot. Although the "Masked Singer" did not use our footage, it was a valuable experience for me to learn more about film shoots.

Other Intern Experiences

During my time as an intern, I was able to participate in other fun projects and attend tours on site. Here are some highlights. For more information about my internship, look at my intern exit presentation below. I presented this presentation to my team and supervisors at the end of my internship.
